Collective Bargaining Debate to Air on Town Hall Ohio
The first-ever debate between the Issue 2/Senate Bill 5 campaigns will take place on this weekend’s broadcast of Town Hall Ohio. Campaign spokespersons Melissa Fazekas of We Are Ohio and Jason Mauk of Building a Better Ohio will appear on the weekly public affairs program produced by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. Town Hall Ohio airs Sunday at 7 a.m. on NewsTalk 610 WTVN and at other times on 10 additional stations.
Mauk and Fazekas will make their cases regarding new limitations on collective bargaining for public employees. The changes were made in March with the passage of Senate Bill 5 and will be approved or rejected by voters during the November election.
We Are Ohio is the campaign to repeal Senate Bill 5; Building a Better Ohio seeks to retain it. In their first face to face discussion the two sides will address the measure’s impact on public employees, state and local governments, taxpayers and communities.
Town Hall Ohio is a weekly radio forum that covers public policy issues and current affairs including economic, social and environmental issues important to farmers and all Ohio citizens. It is supported financially by Nationwide. Stations and air times are listed at TownHallOhio.org. The program will also be available to download at 9 a.m. Monday at either TownHallOhio.org or as a podcast on iTunes.
