For Immediate Release
August 14, 2014
COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Editors: The following statement may be attributed to the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.
“As we have seen in recent weeks, the importance of protecting our water resources is of the highest priority. We know that solving the problem will require a comprehensive approach that addresses all of the factors that are contributing to our water quality challenges. Ohio Farm Bureau appreciates Gov. Kasich’s announcement today that the state will be investing $1.25 million in conservation techniques that farmers can use to help them continue their work to protect water quality. Ohio farmers are committed to doing their part to address our water quality challenges, and we’re glad to see the governor’s multifaceted approach includes $150 million in investments for upgrades to drinking water and wastewater treatment infrastructure and $2 million in additional research.”
