Livestock Care Standards Board
Farmers can now follow the proceedings of the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board online with the launch of the board’s homepage at www.olcsb.org.
The comprehensive website provides the latest news and information from the board, frequently asked questions, a list of its meetings and events, board member biographies and more.
The site reflects the openness and transparent process under which Ohio Department of Agriculture Director and OLCSB Chairman Robert Boggs has stated the board will operate. Farmers and consumers may leave public comment on the site, and may also view meeting minutes as well as board timelines and legislation.
Center for Food and Animal Issues
Ohio Farm Bureau’s Center for Food and Animal Issues (CFAI) was established in 2009 to bring together diverse interests including farmers, consumers, zoos, hunters, researchers and pet owners to make sure all voices are heard as decisions about animals are considered.
Now all interests can stay up to date with the latest news and information from CFAI on the Center’s homepage at www.foodandanimals.org. Upcoming events and “Did You Know” statistics can also be found on the page.
Animals for Life
Have you ever stopped to think about all the ways animals are a part of our daily lives? What would life be without them?
These are the questions OFBF’s Animals for Life Foundation set out to bring to the front of consumers’ minds when it was established in 2009. With a vision to increase public acceptance and understanding of human-animal interdependency, the Foundation can now be found online at www.aflfoundation.org
The website features a video explaining the Foundation’s mission, provides resources to learn more about the role animals play in our lives, and lists events hosted and/or sponsored by the Foundation.
The Foundation just wrapped up its first-ever round of grant proposals to help further develop and implement its vision and mission.
