An Italian dessert, affogato is a coffee float for grownups that’s equally decadent and simple. Use the best ice cream you can find as well as a premium brew like Crimson Cup, roasted and ground in Columbus.
- 6 scoops ice cream chocolate or vanilla
- 3 cups strong brewed coffee hot
- 6 tablespoons liqueur such as Frangelico or Kahula (optoinal)
- 1/2 cup crushed almond or vanilla biscotti
Place generous scoops of ice cream in individual serving glasses or bowls. When ready to serve, pour ½ cup coffee and one tablespoon of liqueur over each scoop and top with a sprinkling of crushed biscotti.
Makes 6 servings.
