Homemade Granola

Homemade Granola

Rolled oats, almonds, coconut and raisins add to the delicious texture of this snack.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound rolled oats
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 3/4 pound coconut
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup dried fruit

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt the first seven ingredients in a saucepan. In a large bowl combine the oats, almonds and coconut. Add the hot mixture and stir thoroughly. Spread on shallow baking pans. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, stirring every 5 to 7 minutes. Granola will harden as it cools. When cool add raisins and optional fruit. Store in tightly covered container.
