Pizza in a Bowl

This has layers like lasagna.

  • 2 cups corkscrew macaroni
  • 3 1/2 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup onion finely chopped
  • 15 ounces pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion salt
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese grated

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook the macaroni according to the package directions, except omit the salt; drain. Meanwhile, cut half of the pepperoni slices in quarters, set aside. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion till meat is brown and onion is tender; drain off excess fat. Stir in pizza sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste, sugar, pepper, garlic salt and onion salt. Stir in the cooked macaroni and quartered pepperoni slices. Spoon half of the macaroni mixture into a round 2-quart bowl; sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and remaining pepperoni slices. Bake uncovered for about 40 minutes until heated through and cheese is lightly browned.
