We would like to take the time on Tuesdays to introduce you to our county board trustees! While they are busy with their jobs and families, they still manage to find time to do great work for Farm Bureau and we appreciate all that they continue to do for the county Farm Bureau. We value these members and their many hours contributed to making Farm Bureau great.

This week we would like to introduce you to Bethany Schappacher. 

Where did you grow up?

  • Lebanon, Ohio (Warren County)

How long have you been a Farm Bureau member?

  • 8 years

How long have you been a trustee?

  • Newbie

What is your agriculture background?

  • My family comes from an agriculture background but I was initially introduced to agriculture when I met my husband in 2010. I helped at his family farm for five years and worked at a John Deere dealership for three years. In 2016 my husband and I moved to our farm in Wilmington where our main crop is pumpkins. We also grow corn, wheat, soybeans and hay.

What is your current job title?

  • I am employed at Warren County Common Pleas Court as an assignment commissioner.

What activities have you participated in with Farm Bureau?

  • I was a recipient of the Warren County Farm Bureau scholarship three times. I have attended many Farmer’s Share Breakfasts. I’ve volunteered at the milk booth at Warren County Fair. I was also part of the interview team for Warren County Farm Bureau scholarships in 2018.

What is one interesting fact about yourself?

  • I traveled to Iceland and Ireland in June 2018.

Labor has always been an issue, mainly because we are a seasonal operation. So that's a challenge finding somebody who only wants to work three months out of a year, sometimes up to six months.
