Hi! We’re Levi and Krysti Morrow from Morgan County for today’s #TakeOverTuesday. Together we own and operate Rocky Knob Farms in McConnelsville. Levi works off the farm as one of two agriculture education teachers at Morgan High School and Krysti manages day-to-day operations on the farm and takes care of our son Charlie. We grow strawberries and pumpkins for U-Pick customers and wholesale and are just getting into commercial hair sheep. . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Rocky Knob Farms in Morgan County. Spring time is busy on every farm but for us it’s not planting – we’re getting ready to harvest our first crop. Our strawberries start ripening for picking in the first two weeks of May and will continue through early June. We sell the majority of our berries on the farm to customers who come to pick their own. What isn’t sold “in the field” is either wholesaled at our local produce auction or frozen for jam. There’s just nothing quite like a fresh strawberry! . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Rocky Knob Farms in Morgan County. We are learning a lot about sheep production! We have a commercial flock of Katahdin x Dorper hair sheep. They’re often confused with goats by our U-Pick customers but it’s a fun conversation starter. Instead of growing wool like a traditional sheep they shed their hair in late spring like a dog. . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Rocky Knob Farms in Morgan County. Fall is another busy time for us, our second U-Pick season of the year, pumpkins! We started our farm in 2016 with a small pumpkin patch and corn maze. It’s grown a little bit every year and we love getting to see kids light up when they find the perfect pumpkin or funniest gourd in the field. . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Rocky Knob Farms in Morgan County. At the end of pumpkin season, any left over pumpkins are fed to our sheep and family’s cows. They eat them up like candy – rind and all – it’s amazing! No waste around here. . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Rocky Knob Farms in Morgan County. We love raising our son, Charlie, in this lifestyle. There is such value in knowing where your food comes from and how it’s made and we hope that we can continue to share that with our customers who come to the farm. Thanks for hanging out with us today for #TakeOverTuesday! . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Rocky Knob Farms in Morgan County. Labor has always been an issue, mainly because we are a seasonal operation. So that's a challenge finding somebody who only wants to work three months out of a year, sometimes up to six months.

I appreciate the benefit of having a strong voice in my corner. The extras that are included in membership are wonderful, but I'm a member because of the positive impact to my local and state agricultural communities.

Strong communities
I see the value and need to be engaged in the community I live in, to be a part of the decision-making process and to volunteer with organizations that help make our community better.

Leadership development
Farm Bureau involvement has taught me how to grow my professional and leadership experience outside of the workforce and how to do that in a community-centric way.

With not growing up on a farm, I’d say I was a late bloomer to agriculture. I feel so fortunate that I found the agriculture industry. There are so many opportunities for growth.

Growing our Generation
Knowing that horticulture is under the agriculture umbrella and having Farm Bureau supporting horticulture like it does the rest of ag is very important.

If it wasn't for Farm Bureau, I personally, along with many others, would not have had the opportunity to meet with our representatives face to face in Washington.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
