H2Ohio is coming to Crawford County! H2Ohio was designed to address the water quality issues in Ohio. The Ohio General Assembly was the first to fund this movement in an attempt to improve water quality. This program works with farmers to improve conservation efforts, nutrient management practices, reduce runoff, incorporate phosphorus filtering wetlands, manure management and crop rotation will be implemented through the program funding.

All Crawford County farmers are eligible for the H2Ohio program. Pre-recorded meetings with more information will be provided on July 20, 22, 28 and 29. Following the meetings, a live question and answer session will be held. Sign-up for H2Ohio will begin July 15 through Aug. 31. Producers can sign-up for no more than four years of practice payments.

For more information, contact Crawford County SWCD at 419-562-8280 or visit crawfordswcd.org.
