Dr. Lyda Garcia, from Ohio State, placed 31 beef, pork, lamb and goat carcasses. These animals were exhibited at the county fair the previous week and included the Grand and Reserve Champions of each species. Winners received cash prizes from Crawford County Farm Bureau, Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association and Link’s Country Meats.

Goats
1st Place: Lane Caudill
2nd Place: Briella Bennett
Garcia explained to the guests how the carcasses were evaluated and emphasized the importance of marbling in beef and the percentage of saleable product in all species.
Link’s Country Meats, Crawford County Farm Bureau and Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association partnered on the event to make it possible for the youth of Crawford County.
