Ohio State University Extension of Medina is providing provide pond owners with information about the “how-to” of pond ownership and management.

New this year are expanded aquatic talks, which will include “Wet and Extreme! Weather and Climate Impacts on Water, Wetlands and Ohio” from OSU Climatologist Aaron Wilson, and “Rain Gardens and Rain Barrels,” a talk on strategies for slowing water runoff into ponds and waterways from the Soil and Water Conservation District.

Sessions to choose from include a mix of lecture, hands-on, and outdoor talks covering fish management, algae and weeds, nuisance wildlife issues, and more. If you don’t see the session that sounds just right, experts will be available to answer questions and discuss your pond situation. Thinking about constructing a new pond on your property? We’ll have advice on that also, from zoning rules to using the right soil for the job.
