This class will be presented by Nicole Nelsen , MPH, S.I.T, Food Safety Specialist at the Ohio Department of Agriculture who is both an inspector and trainer for food based makers. Nicole will step through the details for cottage food, home bakeries and small scale food producers where a commercial kitchen is required.

In this session participants will learn:

1. Guidelines of what can be prepared and how it can be sold from a cottage food business OR a home-based bakery;

2. Guidelines for growing and selling produce;

3. Explanation of what a business may need to sell online or to retailers;

4. High-level explanation of what is required for growing hemp and producing or selling CBD products.

Who Should Attend: Any food-based maker that is preparing food from home or  considering a cottage food or home bakery business. This event is not intended for catering, food truck or restaurant businesses which are licensed separately by the board of health.

Additionally the team at Cultivate will be available for scheduling free consultations to start a food-based business as well as arrange tours of their commercial kitchens in Grove City and Pickerington.
