Cultivating a Cure is Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation’s annual fundraiser that has raised over $750,000 in the past 10 years to support cancer treatment and prevention research at The Comprehensive Cancer Center— Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University.

For its 11th year, the event will be returning to where it all began: Porteus Farms in Coshocton.

The event brings the agricultural community together to support efforts to find a cure to a disease that has impacted many lives and families. Cultivating a Cure was founded in 2011 by Brent Porteus and daughters Amy and Beth following Debbie’s passing from metastatic breast cancer. The Porteus family’s desire is to support their passion for cancer research and prevention while remembering Debbie and all of those among our families who are and have battled cancer. Cultivating a Cure also recognizes the value that is found when members of the ag community forge and develop their relationships and come together to accomplish so much, not only for this fundraising effort, but across the important issues facing the industry.
