With the passage of Senate Bill 150 in 2014, Ohio became the first state to require anybody who applies commercial fertilizer to more than 50 acres for agricultural purposes to be certified no later than Sept. 30, 2017. Applying fertilizer without certification could result in fines and/or misdemeanor charges.

The Fertilizer certification will be included as part of Agronomy Day which will feature more speakers than just a Fertilizer certification meeting. It includes lunch. The certification is three hours, intended for applicators who currently do and do NOT have a pesticide applicator license.

Agronomy Day and the certification are being offered by Ohio State University Extension. Contact: Jerry Iles:  [email protected] or 740-652-7260.
