Ashtabula and Trumbull County Farm Bureaus, along with Centerra Co-op, Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, and Nationwide Insurance are presenting Grain Bin Rescue Training taught by the Ohio Fire Academy, and Grain Awareness Training taught by The Ohio State University on Saturday, July 22 at Magyar Farms, 2701 Cream Ridge Road, Orwell, OH., followed by BBQ dinner at 5 pm.

Cost is free for emergency personnel and the day includes hands-on training, free lunch and dinner, and a chance to win grain rescue equipment for your fire department.  Participants will take a six hour OFA course (#1954) to learn and practice grain bin rescue techniques with the CART.  At  2 p.m. there is a workshop which is open to the public, FREE for Farm Bureau members; Non-members cost is $25, which includes dinner.  Participants will have the opportunity to view the Grain Comprehensive Agriculture Rescue Trailer (CART) and to attend the Grain Awareness training workshop.  Community participants are not permitted to participate in the actual rescue training portion.
