Coshocton County Farm Bureau will be hosting a fall safety training session Sept. 11, 2024 at the OSU Extension Conference Room. We will be offering two options, breakfast and/or lunch, and participants will receive two hours of workers’ compensation training, which would satisfy their annual Ohio Farm Bureau Workers’ Compensation Group Rating Program two-hour training requirement. There is no cost to attend, but participants are asked to register in advance to allow for food ordering.

Breakfast option: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Ag Crime Prevention
We’ll discuss theft statistics, specifically the types of equipment that are frequently stolen, manufacturer, thefts by month, types of theft, crime prevention tips, tips to protect your property, chemical protection, OAN, container thefts, what to do when a crime occurs and Nationwide’s Crime and/or Arson Reward Program.

Agritourism
The presentation addresses agritourism activities such as: haunted farms, corn mazes, hay rides, petting zoos, pick your own operations and roadside stands. The focus of the presentation will be on liability associated with these activities and how to mitigate this liability. 

Lunch option: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

ATV/UTV Safety

Learn about Let’s Champion Rider Safety, an innovative outreach campaign intended to reduce the number of ATV and UTV accidents in rural communities.  

Defensive Driving
Learn the five steps to defensive driving with an emphasis on operating agricultural machinery on and off roads. This class will remind everyone of how important safe driving is to all of us.
