Knox County business and community leaders, as well as interested residents are invited to attend a special energy issues briefing sponsored by Knox County Farm Bureau. The briefing will be held at the Ramser 4-H Center on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. There is no cost to attend. RSVP to [email protected] by Oct. 3.
The program will be facilitated by Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Director for Energy, Utility and Local Government Policy Dale Arnold. During the briefing, he will discuss development of electric and natural gas aggregation and choice programs throughout Ohio, and what questions energy consumers need to ask program sponsors and service providers as they consider being involved in the process.
“Knox County residents and community leaders have a lot of questions concerning energy development in the area,” Arnold said. “New technologies, utility infrastructure refits, and service provider options – many want to have a better understanding of energy development trends and how they can evaluate and potentially participate in programs to help them better control their energy costs “
“Energy aggregation and choice programs have been available for many home, farm and small business owners for a quarter century,” said Vicki Weiser, Knox County Farm Bureau president. “Many folks still have concerns. Given recent rate increases for electric and natural gas services, more of our friends and neighbors are looking for better strategies on tackling their utility bills. Community stakeholders want to know how these programs work.”
Arnold has been involved in energy and utility related issues since 1995. He represents farm and rural residential energy consumers on a variety of government working groups and public utility advisory boards concerning energy development. He has extensive experience working with county Farm Bureaus and local residents, helping communities evaluate energy service options, aggregation, power marketing, regulatory safeguards, supply management and power siting.
