Each year, our Spring Fling provides members an educational event about new technology, programs and topics to widen their view of agriculture. This year we are excited to have Melinda O’Briant, adult dducation director at Turner Farm, sharing about growing cut flowers for enjoyment and selling bouquets.

After growing up on a farm, O’Briant earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in education from Indiana State University. She has worked in flower shops and greenhouses from Indiana to Colorado to North Carolina. O’Briant was a tenured associate floriculture professor at Vincennes University before joining Turner Farm in 1996. She continues to bring a lifetime of practical growing experience to adult classes and manages the farm’s flower production and Flower CSA.
