The Woodlands Wednesday series continues with Wicked Weeds Winter Woodies Thursday!
Invasive species are not just found in natural areas. They’re all across the landscape – including in our own backyards!! You can make a difference. Join us for this program to learn techniques that you can use to combat invasive plants.
There are two options to attend this program, VIRTUAL ONLY or VIRTUAL + FIELD. In the virtual portion, we’ll discuss the invasive plants in our area and introduce you to common control methods. For a fee you can attend the optional second field part of the
program, where you’ll choose from one of two in-person sessions at the Mentor Marsh Nature Center on Saturday, March 12. We’ll teach you to identify woody invasives and demonstrate control methods you can use, even in the middle of winter. Then you’ll have a chance
to practice those methods yourself, while we’re on hand to offer encouragement and advice.
There’s no better time than the new year to commit to making a positive change for biodiversity. Wicked Weeds will give you the tools to get started—and we’ll send you home with some helpful resources you can put directly to work.
