Ohio Soybean Council (OSC) board member John Motter will speak on the $5 billion Ohio soybean industry.The program begins at 8:30 a.m. with informal networking prior, hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation.Based on the most recent figures, Ohio was sixth in soybean production in the United States and produced 5.4 bushels above the national average of 39.6, according to the United Soybean Board. As a result, Ohio’s food industry heavily benefits – because of Ohio’s favorable geographical position in North America, many soybeans are processed at Ohio food manufacturers into numerous products. Motter is an ex-officio member of the OSC board. He also serves as lead of the United Soybean Board’s Customer Focus Action Team, which deals with the relationship and needs of farmers, processors and buyers in the United States and overseas. Before participating in this position, he served on their board of directors for five years. The Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum is an educational networking opportunity to provide information on current issues, trends and programs available to the agricultural community and those who support its advancement.
