Topics include nutrient management at Rupp Vue Farms, nutrient variability of liquid manure in storage, winter runoff, economic value of manure, planning and managing manure storage, growing the application window, subsurface band application of poultry litter and field demonstrations covering adjustable bandwidth subsurface applicator, cover crops for Ohio soils, effect of manure application rates on yield, solid manure spreader calibration and applicator demonstrations.

The 2014 Manure Science Review is an educational program designed for those involved in any aspect of manure handling,management or utilization, including:

Livestock and crop producers

ODNR-SWCD personnel

USDA-NRCS personnel

Extension Educators

Certified Crop Advisors and

Professional Nutrient Applicators.

The full-day MSR program qualifies for these continuing education credits:

ODA Certified Livestock Manager (CLM) 5.5 Continuing education units (CEU’s)

Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) Continuing education units (CEU’s): 2.5 Nutrient Management; 3.0 Soil & Water Management

Professional Engineers (PE) 2.0 Continuing Professional

Cost: Cost: Early registration* $25 (on or before Aug. 6) Late registration* $30 (after Aug. 6 and walk-ins)
