In our partnership with Shelby Environmental Education Coalition, we displayed in the round barn again. Thousands of fairgoers visited our booth and we took part in the kid’s nature craft. We also supported the Junior Fair participants by handing out more than 325 T-shirts. The shirt design was a countywide contest and our winning design was by Iris Canan of Anna.
And NEW THIS YEAR! we held a Member Appreciation Event on Sunday, July 24 at the fair from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. All new and renewal members received a hitch pin.
Affectionately known as the Golden Girls, they were there, and sometimes still are, as the backbone of the organization – making cookies and making plans to keep “community” in the farming.
