Gallia County Farm Bureau holds 103rd annual meeting

Thirty-one members and guests attended the 103rd annual meeting Aug. 27 where action was taken on the organization’s policy priorities, elections were held and special achievements were recognized. Farm Bureau leaders and Leah Hetrick addressed the meeting. Hetrick is director of legal education and member engagement for Ohio Farm Bureau. She talked about property taxes and what Ohio Farm Bureau’s role has been during property tax discussion.

Farm Bureau members passed policies opposing CAUV benefits to foreign landowners and supporting the need to spay and neuter companion animals.   

Re-elected to the county board of trustees were Gary Truance and C.A. Duncan. Elected to serve as delegates to the 2025 OFBF state annual meeting were Jake Bodimer, Gary Truance and Caleb Campbell. Sam Shawver and Jessica Campbell will serve as alternates.

Gallia County Farm Bureau President Jake Bodimer discussed different activities that the county Farm Bureau had taken part in. From holding the 21st annual 4th grade Ag Day, to hosting the second annual General Livestock Judging Contest, and offering a member benefit Soil Sampling.  

Ohio Farm Bureau State Trustee Karin Bright talked about the value proposition model of the Ohio Farm Bureau and what it looks like on the county level. 

Organization Director Ashley Kasler recognized the county board of trustees with a gift of appreciation

We concluded the night with President Jake Bodimer installing the new Gallia County Farm Bureau President Gary Truance.

The mission of Ohio Farm Bureau is working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities.
