Are you interested in learning more about Farm Bureau? Do you enjoy talking to farmers and those connected with agriculture? Holmes County Farm Bureau will be kicking off the 2019 membership campaign Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.

Membership is essential to organizations such as Farm Bureau. We are only as strong as our membership and it takes the entire community to influence change. When Ohio Farm Bureau and American Farm Bureau lobby on Capitol Hill and at the Ohio Statehouse, we are able to encourage change by sharing the thoughts and opinions of our members. In order to continue to be the influential organization we are, we need to keep reaching out to our members and those who we support that are not yet members.

Within Holmes County, there are two large groups that we have been working with to influence change and protect the economic interests of our residents. We have worked with the Ohio Professional Dog Breeders (now the Ohio Forum for Companion Animals) for several years to negotiate the mandates for the dog breeding industry. More recently, we have been working with the sawmill and furniture industries to determine needs and work toward sound policies and laws to protect the timber industry.

If you are interested in learning more about Holmes County Farm Bureau, contact the County Office at 330-263-7456 or email [email protected]. Light refreshments will be served at the meeting and all materials will be provided. RSVPs are required as the building is accessed through a door code.
