Start early. This needs an hour to cook.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 1 green pepper, sliced
- 12 baby carrots
- 2 potatoes, quartered
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon Lawry's Season salt
Directions
Mix together in a bowl raw hamburger, onion, green pepper, carrots, potatoes and seasonings.
Roll out 1 yard of aluminum foil and place meat mixture in a pile in the center of an 8-inch section of the foil. Wrap all remaining foil around the pile forming multiple layers of foil. Press foil tight.
The wrapped pile should be several inches tall, 8 to 10 inches long and tightly wrapped. If not, use more foil to tightly wrap.
Place in campfire or on campfire ring side grill. Cook 45 to 60 minutes, turning every 5 minutes. Careful when turning not to tear the foil. Carefully open packet as hot grease and steam will release.
