Peaches do not get any sweeter once they are picked. They do get softer and juicier, but never sweeter. That is why it is important to avoid rock hard peaches that were picked when they were still green.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 4 tablespoons peach gelatin
- 1 1/4 cups hot water
- 2 large fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
Directions
Mix together sugar, cornstarch and gelatin. Stir in water and cook over medium heat until sauce boils and thickens. Pour into a quart jar. Allow to cool. Fill jar with peaches; push peaches down into sauce until all are coated. Refrigerate. Keeps several days in the refrigerator.
