Horse ownership is a valued part of Geauga County’s rural landscape—but proper manure and facility management is essential to maintaining healthy farms, clean water, and thriving communities.

Join the Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District and Geauga County Farm Bureau for the Equine Environmental Stewardship Workshop: Manure Happens! Manure and Facility Management on Horse Properties. This free workshop offers practical guidance and expert insight into:

  • Managing manure and nutrients effectively.

  • Reducing mud and improving pasture conditions.

  • Enhancing horse health and property appearance.

  • Increasing farm efficiency and resource conservation.

  • Understanding and meeting regulatory compliance.

The workshop will feature presentations from professionals with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Ohio State University Extension, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Geauga SWCD.

Lunch will be provided by the Geauga County Farm Bureau. Participants will receive an Equine Environmental Stewardship recognition sign upon completion of the workshop.
