Carroll County Farm Bureau will hold a Show Stock Seminar April 26, 2025 at the Carrollton Livestock Auction Barn from 9 am to 2 pm. This event is free and open to any youth exhibitor planning to show hogs, steers, goats or sheep.
Speakers will present live demonstrations on how to get the best out of your livestock project. Topics include showing strategies, feed rations, animal husbandry, illness to watch out for, and basic showmanship information.
“The Carroll County Board of Trustees works very hard to strengthen our communities and provide opportunities for our young people,” said Nicki Gordon-Coy, Carroll County Farm Bureau president. “We are very thankful for OSU Extension and the Carrollton Livestock Auction Barn for being so willing to partner with us for this event. We are excited to give kids an opportunity to excel in their livestock projects and prepare them to be successful at the county fair each summer”.
The event will start at 9 a.m. with a welcome, followed by individual sessions focused on the basic knowledge of each species.
9 a.m. – Hogs
10 a.m. – Steers
11 a.m. – Goats and Sheep
12:15 p.m. – Skillathons
1 p.m. – Quality Assurance
Participants will be able to attend as many sessions as they would like. Lunch will be available for purchase.
