Pond Management Workshop set for July
With over 8,000 ponds, Medina County is known as the “Pond Capital” of Ohio. With so many ponds adorning properties across Medina and northeast Ohio, there are bound to be questions about algae, weeds and the “how-to” of pond ownership. That is why Ohio State University Extension of Medina is partnering with Medina County Park District, and Ohio Department of Natural Resources to provide pond owners with tips and tools to help them learn more about pond management.
Pond School will be held July 29, 2025 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Letha House Park West, 5800 Richman Rd., Spencer, OH 44275. Cost is $15 per person and includes take home resources. Deadline to register is July 25, 2025.
Topics include fish stocking and management, algae and pond weed control, and tips for healthy aquatic habitats. In addition to the presentations, experts will be available to answer questions and discuss your personal pond situation.
Contact Ashley Kulhanek, OSU Extension, Medina County at 330-725-4911 for more information.
