Read MoreButler County Farm Bureau has been hard at work promoting SMV (Slow Moving Vehicle) safety throughout the county. Together with Russ Beckner and Southwest Ohi
o Family Farm Safety, more than 4000 educational flyers have been distributed along with posters and billboards throughout the county. Farm safety is a priority in the county and the need to educate motorists on the meaning of the bright red triangle and the speed that a SMV vehicle is traveling on our county roadways was staggering.
SMV safety has been addressed through CarTeens, FFA Chapters, 4-H Quality Assurance Meetings, Butler Rural Electric Cooperative Annual Meeting and various other programs. During the month of May, three billboards in the county targeted more than 20,000 drivers daily.
Farmers are in full swing this time of year and it is necessary to share the roadways and use caution. Please…..Be patient, be kind and stay behind!
