allen-county-fair

The 2017 Allen County Fair is just around the corner (Aug. 18-26).  Once again, we are in need of volunteers in order to make the Allen County Farm Bureau Food Stand a success!!

The shifts are 11 am – 4:30 pm and 4:30 pm – 10 pm.  Also if a Farm Bureau member is only able to work a few hours instead of a full shift, please note this on the registration form. Then take a moment to look at your calendars and click here to register your available time.  Additionally, we will be sending FREE fair tickets for the day of your shift(s).

AGAIN THIS YEAR…

All workers will receive a free ticket to our Annual Meeting Sept. 17.

We greatly appreciate your time and donations. Of course if any question should arise or if your council would like a member of the Allen County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees to attend one of your future meetings, please call our office at 419-523-5874 or Cathy Lehman at 419-233-2149. Hours of operation are 8 am – 4 pm Monday thru Friday.

Looking forward to working with you for another successful year!

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

Finding farm labor
We work terrifically with the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau, hosting at least one to two outreach town hall events every year to educate new farmers and existing farmers on traditional CAUV and woodlands.

CAUV: Past, present and future
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
