Today we would like to feature another one of our board members, Sara Frank.

Sara grew up in Lake and Geauga counties, and currently resides in Geneva, Ohio. She attended Lakeland Community Community College, where she studied biology and botany. Sara has been a Farm Bureau member for the past three years and is new to Ashtabula’s board this year. Her family includes her husband Daniel Frank and their two dogs, Poppy, an English Black Lab, and D.Va, a tiny toy poodle.

She grew up on a farm raising a large vegetable garden as well as chickens, geese and goats. Now, Sara helps her husband run Cold Springs Orchards along with his family. The orchard has been in her husband’s family for 90 years.

Sara is a Farm Bureau member because “My mother-in-law, Lynn Frank, got me involved. I enjoy being part of something bigger and decided I wanted a more active role in the community.”

Sara is an aspiring poet, she wears mismatched socks for good luck, and claims that she and her husband are both huge nerds.

Please joining us and thanking Mrs. Sara Frank for her dedication to Ashtabula County Farm Bureau.

The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Bringing the farm back to life
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
