Meigs County hosted its first annual Ag Awareness Day. Around 300 fourth grade students from the Meigs County elementary schools attended and spent the day at the fairgrounds. They learned about various agricultural topics such as beekeeping, eggs, skulls and skins, making ice cream, soil and erosion, and farm animals. Prior to the event the students were to draw an agriculture-related scene, which was entered into a contest. Thanks to all of our sponsors, each student was then sent home with a free T-shirt which featured the winning drawing (by Sydney Mora from Eastern Elementary).
