Fayette County Farm Bureau is proud to announce the Frank B. Sollars Memorial Scholarship recipient is Meri Grace Carson.meri-grace-carson

Meri Grace is the daughter of Michael and Mary Ann Carson from Washington Court House, Ohio. A 2019 graduate of Miami Trace High School, Meri Grace plans to study agronomy and ag business at the University of Kentucky.

Meri Grace has been actively involved in the Miami Trace FFA Chapter where she has served as president, reporter and student development officer. She earned her Star Greenhand Award while being a member as well as winning state as the Parli Pro CDE Team Chair in 2018. Meri Grace was also a 2019 National Parliamentary Procedure Competitor and received second place at state with her Agronomy CDE team. She is a State Degree recipient for this coming year. Besides FFA, Meri Grace was also very involved with Junior Fairboard and her 4-H club, Pigs-n-Things where she served as president. She also served as a National Junior Swine Association member.

Meri Grace was very involved in her academics and was a part of many leadership organizations including: student government, class treasurer, Key Club and National Honor Society. She was involved in choir, the Spanish Club and the Spring Musical. Meri Grace also spent time after school playing on the varsity golf team, track and field and was a cheerleader. She also stayed involved in  Crossroads Christian Church and was an employee/athlete at Aerial’s Athletics LLC.

All of these activities and accomplishments have taught Meri Grace valuable lessons, helped her to become a better leader and have shown her the amount of dedication one must have to succeed.
