Warren County Farm Bureau is proud to announce Jera Jordan has received the Fred Pursley Scholarship.

Jera is the daughter of Joseph and Stephanie Jordan from Lebanon. A 2019 graduate of Warren County Career Center/ Springboro High School, Jera plans to study animal science at Morehead State University.

During her high school years she was involved with the bowling team, National Technical Honor Society, National Honor Society, Presidential Scholar Award nominee, and received the Academic Athletic Award.

Jera was very involved in 4-H where she served on the Junior Fair Board, Junior Superintendent, Food and Fashion Board, Livestock Judging Team, camp counseling, treasurer, activities director, and health and safety officer. She was also involved in Great Miami River cleanup and was a Therapy Dogs International instructor.

During her four years of high school, Jera also managed to work as a veterinary assistant and assistant trainer while working at Frisch’s Big Boy. She also helped take care of animals at her lab job over the weekends and holidays at the Warren County Career Cejera-jordannter.

All of these activities and accomplishments have taught Jera valuable lessons, helped her to become a better leader and have shown her the amount of dedication one must have to succeed.

Congratulations to Jera Jordan! We are proud to support your educational endeavors. We wish you the best in the future!

The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
