2025 Pike County CAE

Pike County Farm Bureau has been honored with a national award from American Farm Bureau for its innovative Ag Career Connections program. This accolade is part of the prestigious County Activities of Excellence, a recognition earned by only 24 counties across the United States, highlighting the outstanding contributions and impact of the program.

Receiving the CAE award is a significant achievement for Pike County members, underscoring the dedication and hard work of the volunteers and organizers. This recognition not only celebrates the program’s success but also paves the way for sharing the best practices and strategies with other states, fostering a collaborative spirit within the agricultural community.

The Ag Career Connections program is designed to bridge the gap between students and the agricultural industry, providing valuable insights and opportunities for young individuals interested in pursuing careers in agriculture. Through interactive workshops, industry partnerships, and hands-on experiences, the program equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in various agricultural careers. Additionally, the program was made possible by an Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation grant.

The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
