Read MoreTwo students from Guernsey County will each receive a $500 scholarship to help with expenses for their upcoming college year, thanks to Guernsey County Farm Bureau. From the applications submitted, Lindsey Smith and Madelyn Smith both from Quaker City, were selected as the 2025 scholarship recipients.
Lindsey is the daughter of Jesse and Tiffany Smith. Her family has been her greatest inspiration. “They helped me pursue higher education, encouraging me to follow my goals and work hard,” she said. “An old farmer in my community also played a key role in shaping my passion for agriculture, showing me the importance of dedication and the impact of a life spent working the land.” Lindsey spends time volunteering with the Antrim Fire Department during events, helping with Farm Bureau activities, and showing dairy cattle. She will be attending Wilmington College to major in animal science and minor in criminal justice.
Madelyn is the daughter of Jesse and Tiffany Smith. She is involved in her community through volunteer work at the local fire department events, and with the Guernsey County Beef Committee. In her free time, she shows dairy cattle. Madelyn is attending The Ohio State University majoring in agriscience education. After graduation, her goal is to be an ag teacher for a couple of years then get her master’s degree.
Guernsey County Farm Bureau congratulates Lindsey and Madelyn on their accomplishments and wishes all the best to our area graduates in their future endeavors.
