Friday, Jan. 9

Nearly 200 Ohio Farm Bureau members and staff are traveling to Anaheim, California, for the 107th American Farm Bureau Convention. Throughout the event, members will celebrate 2025 achievements and represent Ohio member interests as Farm Bureau sets policy priorities for the coming year.

Nine county Farm Bureaus representing eight programs received awards in American Farm Bureau’s County Activities of Excellence program and will host booths at the CAE Showcase on the trade show floor.

Will Minshall, Kameron Rinehart and Derek Snider will also compete for national recognition in the Achievement Award, Discussion Meet and Excellence in Agriculture contests, respectively.

AFBF President Zippy Duvall will give his annual remarks during the opening general session on Sunday, Jan.11. This year’s keynotes also include College Football Hall of Fame inductee, Tim Tebow and USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins during the closing session on Monday, Jan.12.

In addition, during the mid-afternoon session on Sunday, Jan. 11, the chair of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.), and Ranking Member Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) will be joined by the chair of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture, Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-Pa.), and Ranking Member Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minn.) for a panel discussion on their vision for the future of American agriculture and their plans for 2026.

Throughout AFBF Convention, attendees are also offered workshops that bring opportunities to advance leadership skills, expand their business acumen, and gain deep insight into the trends and realities impacting food production. The Trade Show offers networking, featured products, and idea-sharing with other state and county Farm Bureaus.

To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Bringing the farm back to life
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
