Brown County Farm Bureau held its 2026 Policy Development Meeting Feb. 11, 2026 to identify and discuss key issues affecting the local community and the agricultural industry. The event was attended by Farm Bureau members, elected officials, and community leaders. This meeting is a fundamental component of Ohio Farm Bureau’s grassroots efforts, a process where members directly influence the organization’s legislative priorities and internal policies by proposing solutions to current challenges.
A primary focus of the discussion was property tax reform in Ohio and its impact on local landowners. Participants also addressed various land use and regulatory issues, including the development of data centers, updated legislation regarding septic systems and CAUV changes.
The meeting also covered broader community concerns, including vaccination education and local crime. By addressing these public health and safety issues alongside agricultural policy, the Farm Bureau aims to represent the comprehensive interests of its members. The policy recommendations drafted during this session will be reviewed at the county level before moving forward for consideration in the state-wide Ohio Farm Bureau policy platform.
