Land Use for the Future of our County series wins County Activities of Excellence award from American Farm Bureau – This collaborative project among several county partners won national recognition for the virtual, four-part series conducted on land use topics such as farmland, industrial development, urban development, open space, and housing.

 

Other activities included: Wayne County Farm Tour, Wayne County Fair, scholarship program, safety meeting, FFA FunVention event, Buy Local Directory & Discount Card, and Tours at Geig’s Orchard and the Countyline Produce Auction for the Young Ag Professionals.

 

Served as Advocates for Members

Grassroots in Action – Over 35 policy development survey responses were collected that ultimately resulted in seven policy proposals at this year’s annual meeting!

Other activities included: President’s trip to DC, AgWeek visits with legislators, policy development breakfast with community leaders, monthly Ag Success Team engagement. 

 

Gave Back to Our Local Community

Ag Toy Drive – Over $11,000 in ag toys were given to Ashland’s Associated Charities, Medina Toys for Tots and Wayne Toys for Tots.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
