Union County Farm Bureau has partnered with Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton on the Farm Watch Crime Prevention Program.
This program is modeled after Neighborhood Watch. Farm Watch takes the “neighbors looking out for neighbors” concept to the commercial level, creating a partnership between farmers, law enforcement, and other organizations that represent agriculture businesses interests. The Farm Watch philosophy is straightforward—Take control of what happens in your community and lessen your chances of becoming a victim.
When criminal activity happens in rural areas of the county, the sheriff’s department will send the county Farm Bureau office the crime report. The Farm Bureau office will then put the information out to our members via an e-blast and on social media. We are currently working to get signs made that rural residents can post that say that their property is a part of the Farm Watch.
Signs have been designed and printed for Farm Bureau members and community members to post on their property. If you are a Farm Bureau member, this program pairs nicely with our Property Protection ($5,000 reward) sign.
