On Feb. 19, the Brown County Farm Bureau board trustees, who are also farmers working the ground to grow our food, extended their dedication beyond the fields by volunteering at the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Georgetown. Trustees and their family members stepped up to help, fulfilling the circle of farm to table. Helping Hands serves over 1500 families each month and relies on volunteerism to fulfill its crucial mission. The involvement of these farmers highlights the connection of agriculture and community welfare. Their hands-on involvement not only feeds bodies but also nurtures the bond between those who grow the food and those who benefit from it. The board looks to continue to grow this opportunity and volunteer on a bi-monthly basis throughout the year.
