Delaware, Union County Farm Bureaus hold Benefit in the Barn

Read MoreSept. 5, 2024 Union County Farm Bureau held its county annual meeting at Boke’s Creek Winery in Raymond. Attendees were able to hear from guest speaker Holly Zweizig , from Union County Mental Health and Recovery board. They also enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by All Mixed Up. We recognized scholarship recipients who could attend.
Union County Farm Bureau members in attendance also voted on policies, and voted on delegates to attend the 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, as well as electing county board trustees.

Policies that passed:
LOCAL:
1.We encourage the county to enforce the statutes as written regarding placement of mailboxes.
a) For safety purposes for when farm equipment is on the roads and have to move over for a car to pass. On mailboxes, county engineer makes the rule
2.We encourage modern energy solutions when designing and building new construction homes to preserve prime farmland.
3. We encourage new installations of ag fuel tanks to be equipped with secondary containment, emergency shut off, overfill protection & fire extinguisher within 75 feet.
4.We support the townships being allowed to determine their own zoning.
