Teaming up with organizations both within and outside of the agricultural industry helped cultivate and strengthen the Ohio Farm Bureau brand with members and others. Following are some of the biggest initiatives.
Nationwide, Farm Bureau’s No. 1 partner, co-hosted a series of financial workshops with other partners Farm Credit Mid-America and Wright & Moore Law to aid members as they make economic decisions. Retirement planning, financial risk management and farm transition planning were the topics presented at several Farm Bureau Financial Essentials workshops this summer.
Other highlights of the Nationwide partnership this past year included the Golden Owl Award to honor an agricultural educator of the year and its exclusive sponsorship of the Chase Bryant concert at the Ohio Farm Bureau centennial celebration, in addition to multiple other benefits provided by the Fortune 100 company to Farm Bureau members every year.
Ohio Farm Bureau helped the Ohio State Fair set a new record for the purchase of a reserve grand champion market barrow. OFBF partnered with Bob Evans Farms, Kale Marketing, Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, Event Marketing Strategies and Huffman’s Market to purchase the barrow for $33,000. Exhibitor Grant Adams of Mercer County received the capped amount of $7,000 and the rest of the funds went to the Youth Reserve Program, which is distributed among the fair’s carcass contests, scholarships, outstanding market and breeding exhibitor programs, showmanship, skillathons, 4-H and FFA.
This fall, OFBF partnered with Ohio State University Athletics during the 2018 football season as part of the organization’s effort to continue to build brand awareness, increase membership reach and promote Ohio food and agriculture. In addition to radio and television commercials and banner advertising at Ohio State Athletics’ website, Ohio Farm Bureau was also the official sponsor of the Ohio Stadium Zero Waste Program as well as a co-sponsor of the Tastes & Traditions guide.
Membership in Ohio Farm Bureau allows the organization to create and support these partnership activities. Join or renew today.
