The Ohio State Fair 50-Year Club invites fairgoers who have attended the fair at least once in the last 50 years to its annual meeting and celebration at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the new Ohio Showcase Building.

The celebration will feature several special events, including:

  • Distinguished Guests & Performances: A planned visit from Governor Mike DeWine, along with performances by the Ohio State Fair Youth Choir and Band.
  • Awards: Recognition of longtime fair supporter Roy Pollard, who will be honored with the Giant Step Award.
  • Time Capsule Ceremony: An update on the club’s partnership with America 250-Ohio to place a historic time capsule in the Ohio Showcase Building. The capsule, containing items that represent Ohio in 2026, will remain sealed until it is opened in 2076.

The 50-Year Club promotes fellowship among longtime fairgoers and supports the continued success of the Ohio State Fair. Membership is free, and family and friends are welcome to join the festivities as the club celebrates rich traditions, reconnects friends, and honors those who have made the fair a cherished Ohio institution for generations.

Junior Fair Board members will be stationed just inside the Cardinal Gate to assist attendees with transportation to the Ohio Showcase Building. Additionally, an express shuttle will operate continuous, round-trip service directly between the Cardinal Gate and the Ohio Showcase Building during the designated meeting time.
