Pike County Farm Bureau held its annual “Wreaths for all Seasons” fundraiser. This fundraiser raises money for scholarships and other youth programs in our community. Thirty local businesses purchase and decorate a wreath, then collect votes (money).
There are two categories to the contest:
“People’s Choice,” which is the business with the most votes, and “Most Creative/Original,” which is voted on by a committee of people. This year “Most Original/Creative” went to Emma’s Frosty Kreme and “People’s Choice” went to Klinker’s Lumber.
Congratulations to the following businesses on their top 10 placing (11 this year due to a tie) for the Pike County Farm Bureau Festival of Wreaths Contest KLINKER’S LUMBER, EMMAS FROSTY KREME, JESSICA’S ATTIC, WAVERLY GIOVANNIS, GERBER INSURANCE & FINANCIAL SERVIES, DAVIDA BROWN-PIKE COUNTY AUDITOR, WAVERLY NUTRITION, RAPP’S REPAIR SHOP, WILLIAMS HARDWARE-LATHAM, HAIR BIZ SALON and PIKETON FFA – TOP 10 WINNERS for their wreaths in the Pike County Farm Bureau Festival of Wreaths Scholarship contest. The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.
Farm Bureau is what really got the word out. It’s been one of their goals to get this done.
I could not have done it without the resources I have found through Farm Bureau.
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.
