Whether it’s supporting 4-H and agricultural education programs, fighting for fair taxes, defending landowner rights or ensuring that new policies allow families to continue to farm, we’re here to work on your behalf. Your membership helps Ohio Farm Bureau engage at the local, state and national levels on the decisions that impact farming and communities. In addition, members receive exclusive access to insights about current issues and a platform to share their views. As a grassroots organization, Farm Bureau is guided by the direct input of members who have a vested interest in the success of the state’s more than $100 billion food and agricultural economy.

We’re proud of our 100-year legacy of delivering results for our members. Our accomplishments have ranged from the establishment of farm cooperatives and companies like Nationwide to the development of Ohio’s Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV) program. Farm Bureau works to support important programs like crop insurance and agriculture’s sales tax exemption. We helped eliminate Ohio’s estate tax, safeguarded the opportunity for children to work on farms, and supported funding for Ohio State University Extension and 4-H.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

Finding farm labor
We work terrifically with the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau, hosting at least one to two outreach town hall events every year to educate new farmers and existing farmers on traditional CAUV and woodlands.

CAUV: Past, present and future
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
