I hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer! I have been very busy this summer working for Mercer County Farm Bureau. I have had the privilege to attend board meetings as well as meet many people that make this organization run smoothly and efficiently. On top of attending meetings and meeting new people, I have also been busy planning numerous events for members as well nonmembers.
Currently, I am working with our County Office Administrator, Joy Aufderharr, to design T-shirts that will be distributed during the Mercer County Fair, which will be held Aug. 10-16. We will be handing out T-shirts to 4-H and FFA members on Saturday, Aug. 11. Be sure to keep an eye out around the fairgrounds for exhibitors to be wearing these!
I am honored to be a part of all of the summer planning during my internship and hope to see you all at the fair!
To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.
Farm Bureau is what really got the word out. It’s been one of their goals to get this done.
I could not have done it without the resources I have found through Farm Bureau.
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.
