2024 Election: Vote ‘no’ on Issue 1
Issue 1 is bad for rural areas, and Ohio Farm Bureau Federation urges members to vote “no.”
Read MoreIn June 2018, a man attempted to rob a convenience store owned by Jackson-Vinton Farm Bureau member Jason Holzapel, left, pictured with OFBF Organization Director Kim Harless and Jackson County Sheriff Tedd Frazier. Quick thinking by a customer not only foiled the robbery, but also led to the eventual conviction this year of the perpetrator on charges of attempted aggravated robbery. That customer received $2,500 under the Ohio Farm Bureau Property Protection Program for reporting a crime on a Farm Bureau member’s property that led to a conviction. Because the crime happened in 2018, $2,500 was awarded. In 2020 the reward program was increased to $5,000 by the Ohio Farm Bureau state board of trustees.
