The Pickaway County Farm Bureau is looking forward to a new year serving members and cultivating our community.
Advocacy. The Pickaway County Farm Bureau gathered input from members to develop local, state and federal policy affecting agriculture. Pickaway County delegates brought local policy forth at the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting. In 2021, Ohio Farm Bureau will work to advance policy on issues important to you, including: rural broadband, timber management, water quality, and the local food supply chain. County leaders will meet with policy makers to bring to light these and other policy issues during virtual Ag Week at the Capital, Feb. 15-19.
Education. The Farm Bureau aims to ensure a prosperous future for your farm business and the agricultural industry in Pickaway County. In 2021 we invite you to attend the Farm Tax Talk Webinars. Farm employers will have an opportunity to fulfill The Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation safety requirements through Ohio Farm Bureau’s Cultivating Safe Farm Operations online training. The county Farm Bureau will host member education sessions on the topics of solar energy development and land management.
Youth. The Pickaway County Farm Bureau Buyers Club will show strong support for county youth at the 2021 Pickaway County Fair. The county will sponsor youth fair activities including a day at the fair.
The Pickaway County Farm Bureau and Soil and Water Conservation District will boost ag literacy at Virtual Ag Days. Organizations will work together to add videos and curriculum featuring Pickaway County farms. Residents can visit the Little Book Barn Library stationed outside the county Farm Bureau office to check out books about agriculture.
The county Farm Bureau is sponsoring Young Agricultural Professionals to attend the virtual Ohio Farm Bureau Winter Leadership Experience on Jan. 29-30, 2021. Members can apply for sponsorship by emailing [email protected].
Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation, county Farm Bureaus, commodity organizations and other agriculture groups offer scholarships for students pursuing higher education.
Savings and Discounts. Farm Bureau members can take advantage of new member benefits in 2021, including Farm Bureau Bank and Great Lakes Ag Labor Service.
Local Events. Pickaway County looks forward to reuniting with members for fun, fellowship and community building when it is safe to gather in 2021. Local events will provide farm family entertainment, socializing with friends and neighbors, and celebrate our county’s rural heritage.
